OUR ERASMUS+ INCOMING STUDENTS IN 2023/2024
In the academic year 2023/2024, we hosted eight Law students from abroad at our university as part of the Erasmus+ program. The students came to us from various universities – five from the University of Salamanca, two from the University of Santiago de Compostela, and one from the University of Bologna. All the students attended courses prepared by our university in English during the first and second semesters and passed them with distinction. Below, we present their comments regarding their stay in Poland and at our university.
“Yes I would recommend the experience to foreign students, Poland is very different from Italy and so you can experience a completely new culture, people are less friendly than in Italy but this can also be an advantage. I founded difficult to deal with the weather which was so cloudy but not as cold as they told me. The food is good and Wrocław is a beautiful city, full of events like concerts and art shows, public transport are way better than italian ones. I’d recommend to Italian people to search for events on Facebook, to go to hala targowa and konspira (really good food).
My university here was really different from Italy, small classes, which is so helpful to learn and create a good relationship with professors. The exams were different to, lot of writing which is not common in Italy, but is important also to learn how to write papers and essays so was so nice to try. Good teachers and small but beautiful university.”
Alessandro
“Poland surprised me from the very first day, in a good way. I liked Wroclaw because I was expecting something very different; however, Wroclaw is a very beautiful city with a lot of charm, full of bridges, little gnomes, and people on the streets when the sun is shining.Furthermore the university, it is located on an island with a lively atmosphere, and the professors treated us very well. I have very fond memories of this year, and I hope to return at another time and remember how much fun I had here this year.”
Ana
“I came to Poland on September 27th, I did not expect Wroclaw to be so sunny and beautiful, and the first time I went to Rynek I was surprised. I also visit other polish cities, Warsaw, Kraków, Gdańsk, but Wroclaw is my favorite. The university is very nice, is located on an island in the Odra River, near to the city center, the place is very beautiful and lively. I would definitely come back here if I had the chance.”

“Coming to Wroclaw for Erasmus is one of the best decisions I have ever made. It is a great opportunity to meet new people, travel and get to know other cultures. It is easy to understand people even without knowing their native language. My recommendation for someone who is going to come is to take a risk and go out of your comfort zone, this experience only lasts a year and you have to take advantage of it. Besides, the city is beautiful and there is a great atmosphere.
It is true that there are some differences between Spain and Poland. From my perspective, Polish people like their personal space and punctuality, while we tend to be noisier but more smiling and closer. One very obvious thing it is always said is the climate difference, but it’s not that different especially if you live in the north of Spain. It’s not that one country is better than the other, I think the important thing is to respect and be grateful, plus the possibility of being able to form your own opinion and share it with others.
Focusing on the university, maybe it would be a good idea to introduce new subjects to offer a wider branch to choose from. Despite this, I must say that they have always been very welcoming and kind, trying to help us and get to know us throughout this year that we have shared.”
Cristina
“My experience living for a year in Wroclaw has been incredibly good. The city is very beautiful, with a beautiful historic center. It has many things to visit and do. It also has a great university atmosphere. The university is good and is right in the center. The teachers are very attentive and kind. I would have liked to have met more Polish students at the university.”
